Blizzard sues Turtle WoW, and the team vows to stay

Blizzard Entertainment has filed a lawsuit against Turtle WoW, the popular Vanilla+ server. The court documents surfaced on community forums on 30 August 2025.

The documents name Turtle WoW, the Hong Kong-based company AEKCRAFT LIMITED and several individuals as defendants. The filing lists the alleged real names of prominent team members, including Yulia Savko (Torta/Shenna) and Eric Mauser (Shagu/Mephis). Its multiple counts centre on various forms of copyright infringement and related violations.

Project lead Torta answered in an official announcement on the Turtle WoW Discord, saying "Turtle WoW is here to stay". Torta added that the project faces challenges often and is prepared for each one, and that the team remains fully committed to delivering the Turtle WoW experience players have come to love over the years.
