1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Private Server Hub collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our website. We are committed to ensuring your privacy and protecting any personal information you share with us.

2. Information Collected

Your Account

When you create an account, we store:

• Your nickname
• Your email address
• Your password, stored by Supabase as a one-way hash (nobody can read it, us included)
• If you sign in with Discord: the email address, Discord name, avatar link and Discord account ID that Discord shares with us. Your Discord name becomes your first nickname, which you can change. We never see your Discord password.
• Your email choices: whether you get the monthly digest and reply emails, and when you unsubscribed

What You Post

• Reviews, comments and votes on comments
• Votes for servers
• Renown items you buy with your points

Usage Data

Through Vercel Analytics, we collect anonymous usage data including:

• Page views and timestamps
• URLs visited (with sensitive data filtered)
• Referrer information
• General location data (country, region, city)
• Device type (Mobile/Desktop/Tablet)
• Operating system and version
• Browser type and version

3. What Other Visitors Can See

• Your nickname is public. It appears with your reviews and comments, and on the Renown leaderboard with your points and title.
• Your reviews and comments are public.
• Your votes are private. The site only shows how many votes each server has.
• Your email address is never shown.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

4.1 Sign-in Cookies

When you sign in, Supabase (our sign-in provider) stores your session in cookies named sb-…-auth-token. They are essential: without them you can't stay signed in. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.

Cookie Duration

You stay signed in until you sign out. The sign-in cookies last up to 400 days and are renewed when you visit, so on a shared computer, please sign out when you are done. On our website they are only ever sent over a secure (HTTPS) connection.

4.2 Browser Storage

We also keep a few things in your browser's storage, which never leave your device:

• That you closed the cookie notice and the Discord banner
• Your server list filters and a copy of the server list, so it shows up faster
• For the open tab only: a comment you haven't sent yet, where you scrolled to, and the email address you just registered with (shown on the "Check your email" page)

4.3 Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics, which is privacy-focused and does not:

• Use cookies
• Store IP addresses (a visit is recognised by a code that is discarded after 24 hours)
• Track users across different websites
• Store personally identifiable information

4.4 Bot Protection

The sign-up, sign-in and password reset forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not a script, is filling them in. For this check Cloudflare processes your IP address and information about your browser (Cloudflare's privacy policy).

5. Emails We Send

• Account emails from Supabase: confirming your email address, resetting your password and codes that confirm a password change.
• Monthly digest, once a month: Server of the Month, the vote reset, news and how to support the site. Every account gets it unless the box was unticked at sign-up (accounts created with Discord get it too). Each digest has an unsubscribe link, and mail apps such as Gmail offer a one-click unsubscribe button.
• Reply emails: when someone replies to your comment, at most one an hour. Turn them off in your profile or with the link in the email.

The digest and reply emails are delivered by Resend, which receives your email address and the content of the email for that purpose. We never sell your address or use it for anyone else's marketing.

6. How Information Is Collected

We collect information through:

• Account registration and sign-in, including sign-in with Discord
• Reviews, votes and comments you post
• Cookies for sign-in and browser storage for preferences
• Privacy-focused analytics
• Bot protection on the sign-up and sign-in forms

7. Use of Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain our services
• Improve user experience
• Show your reviews, comments and votes
• Send the emails described above
• Analyze usage patterns to enhance our website
• Prevent fraud and abuse, such as fake accounts, votes and reviews

8. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the services that run the website, and only what each one needs:

• Supabase: our database and sign-in, and the account emails
• Vercel: hosting and the anonymous analytics
• Resend: delivery of the digest and reply emails
• Cloudflare: the bot check on the sign-up and sign-in forms
• Discord: only if you choose to sign in with Discord
• Law enforcement when required by law

9. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

Since we only use essential cookies necessary for the website to function, there are no optional cookies to disable. However, you can manage cookies through your browser settings:

• Most browsers allow you to refuse to accept cookies and to delete cookies
• Blocking all cookies will have a negative impact on the usability of many websites, including ours
• If you block cookies, you will not be able to use all the features on our website, particularly logging in and maintaining an authenticated session

10. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information, including encryption, secure servers, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account at any time in your profile (Delete Account). This removes your account, nickname, votes, reviews and Renown, and the text of your comments; replies other players wrote to them stay.

12. User Rights and Choices

Under GDPR and other applicable laws, you have the right to:

• Access your personal information
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to processing of your data
• Request data portability
• Withdraw consent at any time

13. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data during such transfers, in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

14. Children's Privacy

Our website is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect or maintain information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it immediately.

15. Changes to the Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
