Eden Heroes reaches version 1.0 after two and a half years of solo development

Eden Heroes, a custom Wrath of the Lich King 3.3.5 server made by one developer, announced version 1.0 on 30 May 2026. The project started on 27 November 2023 at version 0.1. "I can’t say we ever had a huge population, but we survived the worst of it, and we’re still here," the developer wrote.

What 1.0 includes

• Three game modes: Normal, Progression and Hardcore
• An XP rate you choose yourself, from 1x to 13x
• Any race with any class, and racials you pick when you join
• Up to five professions, pets for every class and two talent points per level
• Flying in Azeroth with any flying mount, with no VIP needed
• The Eden Bank, which shares items and gold between all your characters
• Bots for battlegrounds, dungeons, the auction house and raids, which run through the server’s own raid finder, plus an auto-balancer for raids and dungeons

The developer is open about the bots: the server doesn’t have a big player base, and the idea is that you can play entirely alone after work or with a few friends on a Saturday night.

How it started

The first public post, in December 2023, described a progression server built on instance keys, a PvP "Battle Royale" where you could loot a defeated enemy’s gear and take part of their gold, and a fixed 2.5x XP rate. It also promised that characters would never be reset.

To play you need a standard 3.3.5 client, a patch file and the AIO addon from the server’s Discord. There is no custom launcher.
