Hellfire WoW goes live as a Classic server that grows into The Burning Crusade

Hellfire WoW opened its realms on Monday, 28 September 2026 at 18:00 UTC. The server starts in the Classic era and plans to move into The Burning Crusade "one era at a time", in the team's words.
The team announced the server on 7 September and opened account registration on 14 September, on its website (with a Discord login) and in its Discord.
How it plays
- TBC talents and class changes apply from level 1
- Blood Elves and Draenei can be played from level 1, before Outland opens
- Experience is x1 by default, and players can switch to x0.5, x2 or x3
- Quests always give full experience, even when they are grey
- Rested experience builds up faster in taverns that are not major inns
The Dark Portal stays closed. According to the team, it opens "when the server reaches the appropriate point in its progression timeline", and no date has been given yet.
The team also promises "no donation shop or donations of any kind, ever". Hellfire WoW doesn't publish a player count. Despite the name, nothing links it to the Hellfire TBC server of 2017.
