PsychoFun adds Sentinel, an automated guard against PvP cheating, and rebuilds its core

PsychoFun, the Mists of Pandaria 5.4.8 server that also goes by Project Psycho, published three posts on 6 September 2026. None of them adds a dungeon or a zone. They are about what sits under the game: PvP security, the server core and the first minutes a new player spends in the world.

Sentinel watches battlegrounds and arenas

Sentinel Defender is the new last line of PvP protection. It works next to a reworked AntiCheat and a hardened Warden, and each has its own job: Warden checks that the game client has not been tampered with, AntiCheat blocks illegal movement and exploits, and Sentinel deals with confirmed cases inside battlegrounds and arenas. Once a violation is confirmed, Sentinel can enter the match and stop the player on the spot.

  • It looks for serious movement anomalies, such as teleport exploits
  • It is meant to catch multi-account abuse, win-trading and matches fixed with AFK players, judging behaviour between players rather than only shared IP addresses
  • When abuse is confirmed, it can also take back what was gained: PvP rewards and, in rated play, rating and MMR
  • Playing on several accounts, sharing an IP or ordinary AFK behaviour is not punished by itself. The team says there is no "one suspicious event = ban" rule

A rebuilt core and a new start

The second post describes a cleanup of the server core: its architecture, stability and security, map and terrain handling, NPC and player movement, and an audit of systems written over many years. The tools the GMs and developers use are getting better too.

The third post is about the start of the game. You now choose your language first, and the tutorial follows it. The guide Willy has been reworked to walk with you and react as you progress, and tutorial elements are now separate for each player, so one person's tutorial no longer gets in the way of another's.

Roadmap

The roadmap on the website marks three updates as released: V18.1, a StormCore update with crash and login fixes, more than 470 database issues resolved and a finished BattlePass, then V18.2 (Drop zone) and V19.2 (Fishing). V19.1 (P2 Dung) is at 75%, V19.3 (Weapons) at 40%, and V20.1 (P3 Dung) is planned. None of them has a date.

You cannot log in yet

When we checked on 4 October 2026, the website showed a maintenance banner with an estimated end of 27 July 2027, 14:00 CEST. Registration was locked, and the realm was in GM and test mode with nobody online. The site does not say when or why the maintenance began.
