Stormforge realms go offline

Every Stormforge realm went offline on 14 May 2026, as agreed with Blizzard's legal team after the cease-and-desist in April. That included Netherwing (The Burning Crusade), Frostmourne (the WotLK+ PvE realm launched jointly with Whitemane on 3 October 2025) and Sheilun along with the other Mists of Pandaria realms. The website and Discord closed at the same time. Turtle WoW is due to follow on 15 May.

The Atlantiss and Tauri development teams ran Stormforge as a partnership for more than four years. Its Mists of Pandaria realms were regarded as the most accurate MoP emulation available, and Netherwing was one of the most populated TBC servers.

Tauri and Whitemane both carried on. Tauri's own Hungarian realms kept running separately, and the Tauri Legion project was still listed as playable in August 2026. Whitemane, Stormforge's partner on Frostmourne, launched its Cataclysm realm Gilneas in June and announced its own WotLK+ Frostmourne relaunch for September 2026.
