Yggdrasil WoW introduces Shadows, so you can bring your alts as party bots

Yggdrasil WoW introduced Shadows on 14 November 2024. On this Wrath of the Lich King realm you can log in your own alts as party bots and take them along while you play your main.
How Shadows worked at launch
- From level 15, a Time-Lost Void in your bag gets you started
- Up to two alts at a time, active for as long as they are in your party
- Built mainly for dungeons, but they also quest in the open world and raid
- Based on the AzerothCore playerbots module, adjusted to play closer to Blizzlike
- You control them with simple chat messages, or with the Unbot addon if you prefer buttons
- Shadows must be within 10 levels of you and allowed into the zone you are taking them to
The same update added 20 to 40% more gathering nodes in most zones and cut their average respawn times by 20 to 50%. Important news now also shows on the character selection screen.
Since then
Shadows kept growing. In December 2024 they started working across factions, in January 2025 they learned most of the Icecrown Citadel mechanics, and in February 2026 Ruby Sanctum. The limit went up too: the VIP page now says VIP adds five Shadows for a total of nine, so everyone can bring four. With nine you can fill a 10-player raid on your own, and the winning entry of the January 2026 scrapbook contest was a Sindragosa kill by one player and eight Shadows.
