Evergreen HC

Evergreen HC is a hardcore Vanilla server on VMaNGOS that stays on patch 1.12.1 for good, with normal experience rates and no seasons or wipes, so nothing you level is ever undone. It has been running since August 2026 and its small population is still growing. You get one life. A dead character stays a ghost, resurrection spells only show their visual effect, and Soulstones, Reincarnation and Twisting Nether can’t be used. Every death is announced to the whole server with the character’s level and cause, from falling and drowning to a player’s pet, and everyone is told when someone reaches level 60. If a fault in the server kills you, you can ask for the character back in the death appeals channel on Discord, but deaths from disconnects or lag are not restored. Monster leashing has been rebuilt to follow the official hardcore rules, with a timer for each player that lasts 11 to 15 seconds depending on the monster’s level. Boosting is allowed, but experience drops off when the highest level in your group is nine or more levels above yours. Battlegrounds are switched off and PvP kills give no honor, so there are no PvP ranks. You can’t attack vendors, flight masters and other service NPCs unless you turn on your own PvP flag, so you don’t get flagged by accident. Pets check line of sight before using ranged abilities and move closer when they can’t see the target, so they no longer get stuck. Monsters take about 50% longer to respawn, the Ahn’Qiraj gates are already open, and multiboxing is not allowed. The server is free, with no shop or paid services. Donations are optional and give no in-game rewards, so donors play on the same terms as everyone else. Register on the website, use your own unmodified 1.12.1 client with no launcher or patches, and set the realmlist to evergreen-hc.com. The rules are also available in French.
