Stonetavern

Stonetavern is a free, non-commercial Vanilla 1.12.1 server hosted in the EU. It opened in June 2026 with two x1 realms, and on 23 October 2026 the team merged the progressive Barrens realm into Elwynn, so there is one realm again. Characters, names, gold, items, mail and guilds moved over, and the extras Barrens had are gone. Elwynn is a normal PvE realm that runs World of Warcraft 1.12.1 as it shipped, tuned only where the original was broken, with x1 rates, a level cap of 60 and no layering. There is no new content, no transmog and no dungeon finder. Cross-faction play is the one big rule change, so Horde and Alliance share chat, parties, trade and dungeons. Raids and dungeons open one at a time. Molten Core and Onyxia open two weeks after 80 accounts reach level 60, and Dire Maul, Blackwing Lair, Zul’Gurub, Ahn’Qiraj and Naxxramas follow over about fifteen months. Characters are never wiped. After Naxxramas, in month 15 of Elwynn’s timeline, The Burning Crusade starts on a new realm with the pre-patch. Every character is copied to it with the same login, the Vanilla character stays on Elwynn, and Wrath of the Lich King comes after TBC. Nothing is for sale, there is no shop, and donations buy nothing in game. Multiboxing, GDKP raids and real-money trading are banned, suspected bots are flagged automatically, and a person makes every ban. The client is a ready-to-play Windows zip with the realmlist already set. The community speaks English in world and global chat, and the website is also available in German, French, Spanish, Russian, Polish, Portuguese and Romanian.
