EverFresh opens a progressive WotLK server built around regular fresh starts

EverFresh, a progressive Wrath of the Lich King server, opened on 26 June 2020 at 18:00 CDT. It has a single admin, developer and GM, who started it after being let down by how the private server Dragonblight ended: "I really just wanted to finish all the raid content, but the server died at Naxx."

Going fresh, again and again

The idea comes from the survival game Rust, where many servers reset after a week or so and players lose everything except their blueprints. On EverFresh you keep your gear instead. When the server goes fresh, equippable gear is limited to item level 200 blues at first and gold is cut back to a cap. Nothing else is lost. The XP multiplier is meant to rise a little with every cycle, up to a set limit.

Launch rates and schedule

  • XP x4 for levels 1 to 68 and x2 from 69 to 80
  • Heroic dungeons on 17 July, Naxxramas on 31 July, Ulduar on 18 September, Trial of the Crusader on 6 November and Icecrown Citadel on 25 December
  • The first reFRESH is planned for 2 April 2021

Content can come sooner if enough players want it. The developer plans a poll about three weeks after each raid opens, and every raid gets at least three weeks.

How it is run

The server is hosted in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on AT&T fiber, and the developer promises low ping for US players. There is no item shop. PayPal donations are welcome but give nothing in game, and the developer wants the server to stay as blizzlike as possible.
