Faebright adds five leveling challenges and a Pretend mode for old dungeons

Faebright, a roleplay server with PvE rules that builds an expanded Burning Crusade on the 3.3.5a client, has added a batch of new systems. A community post on Reddit listed them as the server's most recent additions on 6 September 2026, without exact release dates.

Five leveling challenges

Hardcore, Semi-Hardcore, War Mode, Questwalker and the Slow Path. All of them except War Mode can only be switched on at level 1. War Mode can be turned on and off at any time, with a short timer.

Pretend mode for Azeroth dungeons

An NPC outside each Azeroth dungeon lets a high-level character scale down to the dungeon's original level to run it with low-level friends. A player who explained it in the comments wrote that the loot is the normal dungeon loot, you keep all your abilities, your health and damage are evened out for the bracket, and leaving the group ends it.

The same player wrote that a reverse "Feisty" mode, which scales Azeroth dungeons up to Burning Crusade endgame, is in the works. The example passed on: where a dungeon normally drops linen, Feisty would drop netherweave.

Wrath glyphs

The full Wrath of the Lich King glyph library can now be used, on top of the 71 talent points characters get at level 70.

Two roadmap items done

A post in July listed optional leveling challenges and downscaling for Azeroth leveling as plans, and both are now in. Still on that list: level 60 Onyxia and the original Naxxramas, more class and race options, and new quests and content for Outland.

HD mod support

On 21 August 2026, version 1.3.0 of Project Reforged, an HD visual overhaul for the 3.3.5 client (a mod, not a server), added a compatibility patch for Faebright. It covers player characters and NPCs, creatures, and gear and weapons.

Where the server stands

In July the server was in Phase 1 of The Burning Crusade. Patches come out weekly, there is no cash shop, and the September post put the daily average at 50 to 100 players online. Some players in the comments said they came over after Turtle WoW shut down.
