Firestorm starts Season 2 on its fresh BfA realm with Battle of Dazar'alor

Firestorm moved its fresh Battle for Azeroth realm, BfA: Reforged, to Patch 8.1 and Season 2 on 16 October 2026, seven weeks after the realm opened. Each Reforged season raises item levels by 30, so raid gear now runs from 370 in LFR to 415 on Mythic, and the highest item level is 425.
Battle of Dazar'alor
The expansion's second raid is open in LFR, Normal and Heroic, and Mythic comes later. In some fights your faction changes so the raid can tell both sides of the assault on the Zandalari capital. Crucible of Storms, a two-boss raid whose gear has no Azerite traits but carries effects from the Old Gods, opens later with its questline. The 8.1 war campaign, Tides of Vengeance, continues too.
Mythic+ and PvP
- Mythic+ Season 2 has Reaping as its seasonal affix, and rating and the leaderboard start fresh. Keys give item level 375 to 400 at the end of a dungeon and 385 to 415 in the weekly chest, and rewards stop rising at +10
- The Sinister Gladiator season has begun, with Gladiator gear at item level 375 and Aspirant gear at 340
- Season 1 rewards go to both factions. In 2v2 the top 13 get the Dread Gladiator title and the Dread Gladiator's Proto-Drake, places 14 to 25 get Gladiator and the same drake, and in 3v3 the top 7 get Dread Gladiator and the drake
Heart of Azeroth and the world
- The Heart of Azeroth cap rises from 40 to 50 and Artifact Knowledge starts at its maximum. Going from level 1 to 50 now costs about 390,000 Azerite Power, against 18.8 million for 1 to 40 last season, and Firestorm puts it at about six weeks for a player on four hours a day
- Darkshore opens with its own world quests and rares. One faction holds it each week, with Ivus as its world boss, and the Warfront scenarios stay off
- Faction Assaults rotate through Battle for Azeroth zones, much like the Legion invasions
Old content stays useful
A new system, Fated Might, gives every enemy in Uldir and Season 1's world bosses 30% more health and damage for each season they fall behind, and their loot drops at Season 2 item levels. Weekly Challenges now pay for every task you finish, not one per category. The patch also adds pings for marking targets, an Adventure Mode that guides leveling in Kul Tiras and Zandalar, and United Effort, where Horde and Alliance fill four fronts together for a shared reward.
