Project Eclipse starts a two-week open beta of its roguelite WotLK server

Project Eclipse, a roguelite server in development for the 3.3.5a client, started a two-week open beta on 7 August 2026 at 22:00 UTC+3. To play, testers registered on the website and downloaded the team's launcher.

The beta had two phases of different lengths. The first was "played mostly normally to collect feedback and find bugs", except that bags were handed out. In the second, every tester got basic GM commands, such as teleporting, changing health and movement speed, flying and adding items. The team was blunt about what the beta was: "This is not a beta that's actually a launch and just left being called a beta. The server is not finished, everything is subject to change."

The roguelite systems

The team showed its systems in July, when it set the beta date:

  • Augments offered as you level. You can filter them by specialization, reroll an offer, or banish an augment until you reset to level 1
  • Ether, earned by playing and spent in an account-wide Ether Tree on perks such as instant flight paths, extra experience and reputation, cooldown reduction, and slots that keep up to 3 augments through a reset
  • Insanity in 4 ranks as you kill monsters: faster respawns, then clones of slain monsters, then extra health and damage, then random affixes
  • Every class ability scales with level, so after reaching 80 once you keep your whole kit from level 1
  • Every talent in your class is open, so a Warrior can take Titan's Grip and Bladestorm, and you pick your own racials
  • Legendaries rebuilt as endgame items with new quests, many reworked bosses and some custom ones

No release date has been announced. On 4 October the project's Discord had 400 members.
