RevelationWoW reveals a Necromancer class, Murloc and Tuskarr races and open-world housing

RevelationWoW published more than twenty pages about its features on 16 July 2024. A month earlier, in "Beta Testing Approaches!" (22 June 2024), the team had said it would let players in group by group onto a "progressive development" realm that never gets a full wipe. The official launch, on a second realm, would only come once levels 1 to 60 are finished.

The Necromancer

The only new class has three specs. Arcane uses forbidden magic, Blood hurts the Necromancer to destroy others, and Unholy spreads plagues and can bring a fallen raid back to life. The class does not learn its spells or upgrades from trainers: you find them by killing monsters in the world and bosses in raids. It has no mana regeneration either, and whether it gets talents at all was still undecided.

Murloc and Tuskarr

Both races can join the Horde or the Alliance. They come with their own racials, which no other race can take.

Housing and the Revelation System

• You can buy land, rent it out to other players for profit, or rent an apartment in a city. Houses stand unphased in the open world, in set areas of each zone, and you can teleport home at any time and invite guests
• For now, everything for a house is crafted with a new Construction profession
• The Revelation System works like prestige. You get a Tier 1 stone every 12 levels and a Tier 2 stone at max level, and you can reset to level 1 and level again. The stones buy transmogs and mounts on Racial Island
• Transmog is unlocked by leveling, not sold in a shop

A different world

The team says it has overhauled nearly 60% of the original world: Durotar is green, Thousand Needles is frozen over, the Legion has invaded Azshara and the Zandalari have landed in Stranglethorn. The Great Desert and half of what used to be Feralas are full-loot PvP zones, where you drop everything you wear when you die. There are also game modes: King of the Hill, a series of 1v1 fights with a leaderboard, a zombie mode and foot races. Four days later the team posted an official zone showcase video on YouTube.
