Whitemane launches Gilneas, a fresh Cataclysm realm

Whitemane's Cataclysm realm Gilneas went live on 6 June 2026 at 18:00 CEST. Name reservation opened on 4 June, and the first raids open on 20 June, two weeks after launch. Gilneas is the first major release of "Whitemane 2.0", the reorganised project announced in April.

Players picked the expansion. On 1 May Whitemane announced that a community vote had chosen Cataclysm over the other options, and released a new unified launcher covering Gilneas and the legacy Cataclysm realm Maelstrom. A PTR opened the same week. A detailed launch guide on 2 June covered the experience, profession and honour rates, the Ancestral Wisdom system, Path of War and the raid schedule.

Experience on Gilneas uses a dynamic rate that rises as you level, adjusting every ten levels. On 29 May Whitemane announced that a progressive seasonal maximum would replace the weekly Valor and Conquest caps. Systems from Maelstrom carry over too, and rated battleground matchmaking was added in August.

Stormstout and Frostmourne

Whitemane's planned Mists of Pandaria realm, Stormstout, was delayed on 30 June. A rebuilt WotLK+ realm, Frostmourne, entered beta on 22 August and was scheduled to launch on 19 September 2026.
