Whitemane - Gilneas

Gilneas is Whitemane's fresh Cataclysm realm. It launched on 6 June 2026 on the modern Cataclysm Classic 4.4.2 client, so current Classic addons work and old 4.3.4 addons do not. Normal raids opened on 20 June, with heroic modes a week later. Experience is dynamic: about x2.3 at level 1, rising to x6 in Outland and Northrend and stepping back down from level 80, with an average of about x2 from 80 to 85. Ancestral Wisdom adds 15% experience and honor per level 85 character on the account, up to ten times. Professions are x2 and honor x3. Gilneas is a normal-ruleset realm: War Mode is optional and gives 20% more experience in exchange for open-world PvP. Path of War creates PvP characters at level 85 with item level 339 gear. Instead of the dampening used on Maelstrom, heroic bosses get more health and damage. Play is cross-faction, Joyous Journeys is permanent, and the realm adds AoE looting, Racial Shift, a Collections tab for transmogs, pets, mounts and toys, and a reworked Auction House. The game runs through the Whitemane launcher on Windows, Linux, Mac and Steam Deck, with Wine or Proton outside Windows. The launcher is unsigned, so some antivirus programs flag it. Whitemane is free to play and funded by a store and the Whitemane+ subscription. The network says its store does not sell power, but its gear offers include entry-level seasonal or tier items as catch-up.
