Whitemane sets Frostmourne 'WotLK: Rebuffed' launch for 19 September

Frostmourne, Whitemane's rebuilt WotLK+ realm, launches on 19 September 2026 under the name Wrath of the Lich King: Rebuffed. The team confirmed the date on 5 September in a post titled "The Final Stretch". The launch follows an open beta that began on 22 August.

Frostmourne first opened on 3 October 2025 as a PvE realm run jointly by Whitemane and Stormforge. After Stormforge closed in May 2026, Whitemane reorganised as "Whitemane 2.0", launched its Cataclysm realm Gilneas on 6 June and delayed Stormstout, its Mists of Pandaria realm. The relaunched Frostmourne is intended to be the network's flagship Wrath realm going into 2027.

What's new in Rebuffed

• Heroic Naxxramas, a difficulty that never existed in original Wrath, fully rebuilt with more than 80 player-facing changes logged so far
• Personal Loot, designed "player first, item second"
• Collections and account-wide systems
• A Vulkan renderer and HD character models, with the client cut from 17 GB to 12 GB
• Class updates, tested during the beta, that buff underperforming talents and add new tools
• Level 19 twink support
• Every weekend after launch weekend was announced as a free Bonus Weekend, but Whitemane switched Bonus Weekends off on 12 September, a week before launch

Whitemane also published Tier 7 parsing rules on 4 September, ahead of the launch.
