Whitemane sets Frostmourne 'WotLK: Rebuffed' launch for 19 September

On 5 September 2026 Whitemane published "The Final Stretch," confirming that its rebuilt WotLK+ realm Frostmourne launches on 19 September 2026. The realm is branded Wrath of the Lich King: Rebuffed and follows an open beta that began on 22 August.

  • Heroic Naxxramas – a difficulty that never existed in original Wrath, rebuilt from the ground up with more than 80 player-facing changes already logged
  • Personal Loot designed "player first, item second"
  • Collections and account-wide systems
  • A Vulkan renderer and HD character models, with the client slimmed from 17 GB to 12 GB
  • Class updates that buff underperforming talents and add new tools, tested during the beta
  • Level 19 twink support

Context

Frostmourne was originally launched on 3 October 2025 as a joint Whitemane and Stormforge PvE realm; after Stormforge closed in May 2026, Whitemane reorganised as "Whitemane 2.0," launched its Cataclysm realm Gilneas on 6 June and delayed the Mists of Pandaria realm Stormstout. The relaunched Frostmourne is intended to be the network's flagship Wrath realm going into 2027. Tier 7 parsing rules were also published on 4 September ahead of the launch.
