WOTLK5 Season 2 realm goes live

WOTLK5 opened its Season 2 realm on 5 August 2026, three days after the project turned two. Raids open on 12 August at 19:00, which gives new characters a week to level and gear up through the reworked dungeons.

New in Season 2 are Mythic dungeons reworked for five-player groups and the Great Vault, which rewards weekly dungeon and raid activity. The season also adds the Anvil of Creation item upgrader, Legendary Necklace Enchants, transmoggable Druid forms and multiple talent specs.

WOTLK5 retunes Wrath of the Lich King's raids so five players can clear them, keeping the encounter design and dropping the need for a large roster. Content is released in phases across each season. The current project is the product of a March 2025 merger between WotLK5Man and WotLK5. Ahead of the launch, the team reported more than 4,500 accounts, nearly 20,000 characters and around 1,350 Discord members.

Season 2 is one of several fresh realms this month, alongside Greyhaven's Vanilla launch on 14 August and Firestorm's BfA: Reforged at the end of August.
