WOTLK5's Season 2 realm went live on 5 August 2026, three days after the project marked its second anniversary. Raids opened on 12 August at 19:00, giving new characters a week to level and gear through the reworked dungeons.
WOTLK5 retunes Wrath of the Lich King's raids so they can be cleared by five players, keeping the encounter design but removing the need for large rosters. Content is released in phases across each season, and the project was formed by the March 2025 merger of WotLK5Man and WotLK5.
Ahead of the season the team reported more than 4,500 accounts, nearly 20,000 characters and around 1,350 Discord members. Season 2 arrived during a busy August for fresh realms that also saw Greyhaven's Vanilla launch on 14 August and Firestorm's BfA: Reforged at the end of the month.
