Emberholt

Emberholt is a small, family-run private server for Blizzard's WoW Forever. The team made it for family and friends, but anyone can create an account. It is kept Blizzlike, with the original rates, the same rules as Blizzard's own realms and no custom changes, and the team says every player you meet is a real person. The realm runs on EmberCore, the team's own server core, which went live as a beta on 18 October 2026. Characters and accounts carried over from the older server software. Updates come out almost every day and the news page lists each one, mostly fixes for quests, spawns, professions and talents. A server status page shows the known bugs and where each fix stands, and fixes that need a restart go out with the nightly update. The realm also restarts automatically and is backed up every night. In early November the team added EmberWatch, an anti-cheat that runs on the server, so there is nothing extra to install. To play, you register on the website with an e-mail address and a 10 to 16 character password, which is also what you type at the game's login screen. Then you get the Emberholt Launcher for Windows or Mac and always start the game from it, not from Battle.net. On Windows the launcher installs Battle.net if needed and has it download the official WoW Forever game. On a Mac you install WoW Forever through the Battle.net app first, and on Apple Silicon the launcher runs the game through Rosetta 2. The website has no shop or donation page, and there is a forum for players. Its Discord had 19 members in early November 2026.
