About Project Chaos

Project Chaos is a Wrath of the Lich King 3.3.5a realm on AzerothCore that rebuilds the endgame around gear progression. The open alpha started on 25 October 2026, anyone can make an account and play, and the website gives no date for a full launch yet. If you have played Path of Exile, much of it will look familiar. Maps start to drop around level 78, and each one opens a dungeon whose tier sets the difficulty, with Tier 1 about as hard as a normal level 80 dungeon. The Atlas lays all Maps out as one connected graph that every player shares. Only Maps linked to the one you run can drop, so you can farm toward the ones you want, and every Map you complete adds a permanent bonus to item drops. Atlas modifiers such as Breach, Rare, Empowered and Old God Influence add breaches, tougher monsters or better loot to a Map, and they move on to other Maps once you run it. Breaches also turn up on their own. Walk into one and waves of monsters attack. Kill enough of them and a Breach Lord spawns, and the loot depends on how many monsters died. They can appear in ordinary dungeons, and every 30 minutes a much bigger World Breach opens somewhere in the open world for groups to fight. Gear rolls prefixes and suffixes with ranks tied to item level, and a custom crafting system lets you make the items you want. There is also an endless Gauntlet with affixes, and spell skins that change how your spells look. Characters can be Normal, Hardcore, Solo Self-Found or Hardcore Solo Self-Found, each with its own Atlas progress. The game is free, and the website says the store only sells cosmetics and services, never power. Its page mentions mounts, toys and name changes, but nothing was for sale yet in early November 2026. Register on the website and use the same name and password in the game. The team's Windows launcher patches your own 3.3.5a client (build 12340), sets the realmlist and shows realm status, news and breach timers. Windows SmartScreen may warn about it because it isn't code-signed yet. Without the launcher, put patch-Z.MPQ in your Data folder and set your realmlist to logon.projectchaos.net. The website and Discord are in English.
