Project Ebonhold

Project Ebonhold reimagines Wrath of the Lich King as a rogue-lite on the 3.3.5a client. Instead of a single long character, you play in Runs: each run starts at level 1, you stack randomly offered powers called Echoes and push as far as you can before dying. Permanent progress survives every wipe through an account-wide Skill Tree bought with Soul Ashes, and gear carries random affixes that can be extracted and re-applied. The open world has been re-seeded with roughly 35,000 additional creatures, content unlocks progressively (Naxxramas first, currently the Ulduar era), and hardcore difficulty tiers offer higher rewards. The stated long-term goal is defeating the Lich King with a minimal group. Its Discord has grown to nearly 20,000 members.
