Gilneas adds solo queue for rated battlegrounds, with Conquest for a loss

Whitemane - Gilneas opened rated battlegrounds to solo players on 6 August 2026. Players no longer need a premade group: they queue through the PvP window and matchmaking builds the teams.

How teams are made

  • Ten players per team
  • Three healers in every team
  • Player ratings matched as closely as possible

More Conquest

A win now pays 500 Conquest, up from 400, and a loss pays 100, where it used to pay nothing. Players who "fight through a close match should still receive meaningful progress", Whitemane wrote. The new rewards started after the next realm restart.

Changes since

  • 15 August: battleground time limits went back to Blizzard's values, and the healer requirement dropped to two per team with a minimum of seven players
  • 27 August: fixed rated battlegrounds not starting when enough players were queued
  • 20 September: flat ratings of +25 for a win and -25 for a loss, and at most two players of the same class per team

The same patch also switched on a random queue for the Rise of the Zandalari heroics. Since 14 August the first run pays 480 Valor Points and later runs 240.
