Project Epoch Reborn goes live, with Molten Core and Onyxia due on 4 December

Project Epoch Reborn, the volunteer-run revival of the Classic+ server Project Epoch, went live on 23 October 2026, the day its team had set a month earlier. The realm runs on the 3.3.5a client with a level 60 cap, and no raid is open yet. It keeps the custom races, Racial Knowledge and optional challenges described before the launch.

What comes next

The roadmap on the project's website lists five patches, and the team says the dates are approximate.

  • Patch 1.0.5, Into the Flames, opens Molten Core and Onyxia's Lair on 4 December 2026
  • Patch 1.1.0, The Call to War, follows in January 2027 with new PvP gear, arenas, Conquest points and Arathi Basin
  • Patch 1.2.0, Echoes of Stonetalon, adds Stonetalon Caverns as a new dungeon or raid, an expanded zone and weekly profession quests
  • Patch 1.2.5, Deck of Delights, brings the Darkmoon Faire, new cosmetic gear and Alterac Valley
  • Patch 1.3.0, Secrets of Uldum, adds a raid in Uldum, a new dungeon and new reputations

The last three are planned for mid or late 2027 and after.

Getting in

Registration is open, and the same account works on the website and in the game. You need your own enUS 3.3.5a client (build 12340), which the project doesn't hand out, and its launcher for Windows or Linux. Chat and announcements run on the project's own Fluxer server rather than on Discord.

The team had set the launch-day player limit at 6,000. A player who ran a betting pool on the size of the launch crowd posted on the forum that 589 people were online an hour after the opening.
