About Project Epoch (before it closed)
Project Epoch was a Vanilla+ server on a WotLK 3.3.5a client that recreated a Vanilla world with Burning Crusade-style talents and abilities and a level 60 cap. It added hundreds of new quests, reworked zones, new race/class combinations such as Undead Paladin and Dwarf Shaman, overhauled dungeons and raids (Onyxia as a three-boss encounter), optional Hardcore (Soul of Iron), Warmode and reduced-XP modes, and cross-faction grouping, chat and trade. It launched in July 2025, received a Blizzard cease-and-desist in September 2025 and later ran on Ascension's launcher until Ascension closed its WoW realms in September 2026. Project Epoch Reborn, a separate community-run continuation, is set to launch on 23 October 2026.
