Project Epoch Reborn launches on 23 October after its final stress test and wipe

Project Epoch Reborn, the community-run continuation of the Classic+ server Project Epoch, goes live on Friday, 23 October 2026 at 16:00 GMT. Admin MACE confirmed the date on 25 September, after the last public stress test.

Before launch

  • The test server closed after the 25 September stress test, and the realm was wiped to prepare for launch
  • Asked about the player limit on launch day, the team answered "6k"
  • Name reservation opens on 2 October at 16:00 GMT, but only for the 2,206 accounts that took part in the beta. Each gets one early name reservation, the Beetah Beetle pet and the Beta Participation achievement. Other accounts will get name reservation at a later date
  • The team says its roadmap of future content is posted on its Fluxer chat, which the project uses instead of Discord

What Epoch Reborn is

  • Vanilla+ on the 3.3.5a client, with a level 60 cap and Burning Crusade-style classes with 61 talent points
  • New race and class combinations, and Racial Knowledge, which lets level 60 characters unlock other races' ability sets through questlines
  • Epoch's custom quests and areas restored, custom dungeons, and 40- and 20-player raids resized to 25 and 10 players
  • Optional challenges: Soul of Iron (hardcore) and Explorer's Contract (half XP)
  • Free to play, with no pay-to-win or donor gear

The project is run by volunteers, not by the original team. The original Project Epoch received a cease-and-desist from Blizzard in September 2025, and its realms are no longer online. Players need their own 3.3.5a client and the project's launcher.
