Project Legacy patch 1.12.5 brings cross-faction battlegrounds and an Affliction Warlock rework

Project Legacy released patch 1.12.5 on Friday, 18 September 2026 at 21:00 BST (20:00 UTC).
Battlegrounds
- Cross-faction: Alliance and Horde players can group up and queue together on the same team
- A new button lets players queue from anywhere, without a trip to a Battlemaster
- Battlegrounds now give experience for honorable kills, flag captures, wins and losses, so they become part of levelling
- Warsong Gulch is the only battleground for now, so that everyone stays in one queue. A match can start with as few as four players a side, as long as both teams are even
Affliction Warlock rework
The rework aims to make Affliction a true damage-over-time specialisation. Several talents changed, including a new Drain Soul synergy and a redesigned Unstable Affliction capstone, and a new talent, Malediction, strengthens Curse of Shadow and Curse of the Elements.
The patch also adds new quests, and the team says more quests and encounters will follow.
Project Legacy opened its Vanilla+ open beta in July 2026. Around the patch, the team said it had passed 1,000 registered accounts and 1,700 characters.
