About OctoWoW
OctoWoW is a community-run Vanilla+ server that appeared in 2026 as a spiritual successor to Turtle WoW after that project was shut down by court order. It runs on a Turtle WoW-derived 1.12.1 core and continues the custom “Mysteries of Azeroth” storyline, with playable High Elves and Goblins, new race and class combinations, extra professions and updated classic dungeons and raids released in phases. Three realms are offered: N'Zoth (normal PvE), C'Thun (hardcore PvE) and Y'Shaarj (PvP, opened 30 June 2026). The team states it is not the former Turtle WoW staff and keeps contributors anonymous from one another; the project was still labelled beta when Massively Overpowered covered it in June 2026.

The Turtle WoW successor reached its first raid phase on 1 October, with Blackwing Lair set for 5 November. In September it fought near-constant DDoS attacks and revealed a domain dispute filed by Blizzard.

Terrible connection problems and extremely toxic community even for wow. Only cool features are secrets of azeroth. Would not recommend.

This is by far the best Classic+ (Vanilla+) server out there right now, and a worthy successor to Turtle WoW. The devs have even delivered improvements Turtle WoW struggled with, such as a 25-quest log and fixed mob pathing. They've also managed to bring the old 1.17 version largely up to Turtle's latest 1.18 patch, which speaks to their skill. The experience is currently hampered by login issues caused by DDoS attacks, but the devs have steadily made progress against them, and 80%+ of the community can now play regardless. If they manage to fully fend off attacks, keep delivering the fixes Turtle WoW couldn't, and pick up the thread Turtle left behind, I'm confident the server has a very promising future. Unlike other takes on Classic+, this one stays true to Classic instead of going overboard with the "Plus".

Toxic community, inexperienced developers, and using an old leaked core. Other Turtle-related servers are far better.
The only bad thing of octowow is that we have an issue with login but this has been the greatest server of turtle wow that made a experience with fidelty and true love with us as users

If the DDOS go , its the best english server for classic plus out there
I like the fact that it not only is recreating TurtleWoW to a T, but also doing their own little changes and planning to work on new content long-term
