Gemstone WoW fixes a crash caused by its own bots and overhauls Wintergrasp

Gemstone WoW called its 22 May 2026 update its "biggest maintenance push yet". It covered 23 days of work, and a second update followed on 31 May.
Crash fixes
The 22 May notes explain one crash plainly: after long uptime, "thousands of bots" spawning pets and summons used up the server’s pool of creature IDs, and the server shut down. The IDs are now recycled. The same update fixed crashes in creature combat, in the database keep-alive ping and in the GM trade log.
The notes also say bots had completed more than 124,000 quests since the previous update.
Wintergrasp
On 31 May a merge from the upstream core brought a full Wintergrasp overhaul, with a new resurrection queue, a grace period for players who relog mid-battle and raid groups that disband when the battle ends. The "Within Our Grasp" achievement now counts for attackers only.
Bots that walk properly
Bots had been freezing on hills because their logic gave up at 40-degree slopes while the navigation mesh allows 60. That is fixed. Bots also stopped wobbling back and forth, step aside instead of vanishing when they hit a wall, and only one of them answers in /say.
Raid fixes include Lord Marrowgar’s Bonestorm, Moroes, a crash at Fathom-Lord Karathress and Magtheridon’s channelers.
