InfernoWoW adds 3v3 solo queue and optional cross-faction battlegrounds

InfernoWoW posted its half-yearly update on Reddit on 14 November 2025. The team had been working on the server for nearly two years and said release was still quite far off. Inferno mixes Vanilla content and its level 60 cap with Wrath of the Lich King gameplay on the 3.3.5 client, with no Outland or Northrend.
New since June 2025
- 3v3 solo queue arenas with their own bracket, rating and arena points
- An optional mercenary mode for cross-faction battlegrounds that works with premade groups. The rest of the server stays single-faction
- Battleground reputations reworked, with reputation rewards back, new items and a fourth reputation tied to a downscaled Eye of the Storm
- The overhaul of the tier 0 and tier 0.5 sets, their stats and their upgrade system is finished
- Almost every Vanilla trinket retuned or rescripted, plus new ones
- Spell hit chance and resistances against higher-level targets in PvP work differently now
- An anti-boosting system that watches experience gains, and stronger anti-cheat and anti-script checks
- New builds, such as fire and frostfire mage, a protection warrior with a new stance of its own, and marksmanship hunter
- An optional lightweight launcher to download the patch
What came next
The team was finishing a rewrite of Alterac Valley, downporting two battlegrounds, adding two custom arena maps and reworking tier 1 and the pre-raid dungeon gear. The two battlegrounds turned out to be Twin Peaks and Battle for Gilneas, which arrived in March 2026.
