TwinStar announces Kronos V, a fresh x1 Vanilla realm opening 9 May 2026

TwinStar will open a fresh Kronos Vanilla realm, known as Kronos V or K5, on Saturday 9 May 2026. The team announced it on 29 March in a post titled "Kronos starts again", promising a realm "untouched, unforgiving, and true to the spirit of Azeroth as it once was".

The realm runs the patch 1.12 client on a PvP ruleset, with x1 experience, gold and drop rates. There is no custom content: progression is time-gated and blizzlike, with quality-of-life features. The debuff limit stays at 8 until the Zul'Gurub patch and then rises to 16.

Roadmap to Naxxramas in 2028

Kronos has published an unusually long content timeline:

  • 2026: Molten Core and Onyxia (July); Azuregos, Kazzak and Dire Maul (September); Elemental Invasion (October); Alterac Valley (November); Blackwing Lair and the Darkmoon Faire (December)
  • 2027: Zul'Gurub (February); Emerald Dragons (March); Silithus (April); War Effort (June); Ahn'Qiraj (August); Dungeon Sets 1 and 2 (October); Argent Dawn (December)
  • 2028: Scourge Invasion (February); Naxxramas (March)

Update: within weeks of this announcement, Turtle WoW and Stormforge both confirmed they were closing.
