'Kronos starts again': Kronos V fresh Vanilla realm announced for 9 May 2026

On 29 March 2026 the TwinStar team published "Kronos starts again", announcing a fresh Kronos Vanilla realm – widely referred to as Kronos V or K5 – launching on Saturday, 9 May 2026. The post promised a realm "untouched, unforgiving, and true to the spirit of Azeroth as it once was."

Realm settings

  • Patch 1.12 client, x1 experience, gold and drop rates
  • PvP ruleset
  • No custom content; time-gated blizzlike progression with quality-of-life features
  • Debuff limit of 8 until the Zul'Gurub patch, then 16

Content timeline

Kronos published an unusually long roadmap:

  • July 2026 – Molten Core and Onyxia
  • September 2026 – Azuregos, Kazzak, Dire Maul
  • October 2026 – Elemental Invasion; November – Alterac Valley
  • December 2026 – Blackwing Lair and Darkmoon Faire
  • February 2027 – Zul'Gurub; March – Emerald Dragons; April – Silithus
  • June 2027 – War Effort; August 2027 – Ahn'Qiraj
  • October 2027 – Dungeon Sets 1 and 2; December 2027 – Argent Dawn
  • February 2028 – Scourge Invasion; March 2028 – Naxxramas

The announcement landed just weeks before Turtle WoW and Stormforge confirmed their closures, making Kronos V one of the most anticipated fresh Vanilla launches of spring 2026.
