Season of the Crusade opens a Vanilla server with Burning Crusade class balance

Season of the Crusade opened on 19 December 2025. The idea, in its owner's words, is to "take all of the fixes that were introduced in TBC and backport them into the Vanilla game - back into Azeroth." The world is Classic, and the classes play as they did in The Burning Crusade.

What changes

• 2.4.3 talents, with 61 talent points at level 60
• Blood Elves and Draenei as playable races
• Jewelcrafting, with sockets and gems on level 60 gear
• Tier tokens and tier sets for every spec and role, with set bonuses based on Tier 4 to 6
• Raids cut to 25 and 10 players, down from 40 and 20
• PvP ranks replaced by arenas and the 2.4.3 honor system, and Eye of the Storm at level 60

Launch day didn't go quite to plan. The server came up about 15 minutes late and without warning, because "an Amazon truck ripped my internet cable out of my house", the owner wrote. Even so, just under 100 players joined at launch. The servers are in North America, so players in Europe may see a ping above 150 ms.

Two days later the owner was clear about money: "THERE IS NO STORE AND NEVER WILL BE." Rates are the standard Burning Crusade ones, x1.
