Sanctuary (RP)

Sanctuary is a roleplaying realm for the 3.3.5a client (build 12340) built around proximity voice chat. There are no voice channels to join: you hear the players standing near you, a voice comes from the side its speaker is standing on, and you choose how far your own voice carries, from 5 to 100 yards. Names stay hidden until a character introduces themselves, so a stranger shows up as their race or as a name of their own, such as the Hooded Orc. Violence needs consent: players flag themselves as outlaws when they are open to it. Lawmen are appointed by name and carry a Writ of Accusation and iron shackles, so an arrest is a scene someone plays with you rather than a respawn timer. Towns have notice boards for work, warnings and debts, strongboxes can be locked or picked, and a downed character can be carried to a healer. Languages have to be learned, player factions have ranks, and death sends you to the spirit healer or leaves you waiting for someone to raise you. A launcher installs the realm's addons and connects the voice service, and your Discord account doubles as your game account. You need your own 3.3.5a client. The live realm opened on 8 September 2026, and its Discord had 39 members in early October. Sanctuary is a non-commercial project run by volunteers, and donations through Ko-fi only pay for the servers and give no in-game benefit.
