Fólkvangr moves from Germany to Finland after a six-day outage

Fólkvangr now runs in Finland. The Splashgame Community moved its Vanilla realm from Germany on 19 April 2025. Players didn’t have to do anything, and the team called the move seamless.

Why it moved

  • Lower latency, especially for Nordic and Baltic players
  • Newer hardware and better performance
  • More stability for events, battlegrounds and the realm’s AI bots
  • Lower hosting costs, as the team said in March

The outage before it

The move followed a rough March. On 17 March 2025 the realm went down because of a quota limit in its hosting setup, and it stayed down until 23 March. The post that announced the fix also celebrated the community’s 100th member and announced the move to a new data centre in Finland.
