Fólkvangr updates to CMaNGOS 0.18 without wiping characters

Fólkvangr now runs the current CMaNGOS Classic core, version 0.18 from August 2026. The Splashgame Community announced the update on 30 August 2026 and said the realm was "fully updated and back in business".
What changed under the hood
- Almost two years of upstream core changes, database updates and bug fixes
- World database schema moved from z2815 to z2837
- Classic-DB updated to content revision 4838, with more than 200 update files applied
- The current ACID 1.12.x creature AI
- Fixes for quests, NPC behaviour, spells, reputation, spawns, scripted events, pets, dungeons and raids
No wipe
The team didn’t swap in a fresh database. It took the existing world through every official update in order, so characters, accounts and world data are all still there.
Don’t expect a different game, though. The aim is still plain 1.12 Vanilla, not "Vanilla+", and many of the fixes target quests and behaviour that didn’t match the original. As the post puts it, not every change "is something you’ll immediately notice while wandering around Elwynn Forest or getting murdered in Stranglethorn Vale."
