Gadgetzan adds Timewalking, its own raid finder and a Diablo-style treasure goblin

The Athenas WoW - Gadgetzan changelog for 13 to 15 July 2026 added four new systems to the Cataclysm realm and made its first raids easier.

Timewalking

Chromie and Nozdormu now send players to 49 dungeons and 21 raids from Classic, The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King, scaled to level 85. Dungeons can be entered with a group, solo or through a queue for 1 tank, 1 healer and 3 DPS. Raids take a group of at least five or a 2/2/6 queue. Each boss gives 70 Justice and 35 Valor in a dungeon, or 100 and 50 in a raid, plus a chest with item level 359 loot. The system is optional, so walking in the normal way still gives the original instance.

A raid finder for every current raid

The 4.3.4 client's raid finder only works for Dragon Soul, so the team built its own. The NPC Zephyr queues players for Blackwing Descent, Bastion of Twilight, Throne of the Four Winds or Baradin Hold in 10 or 25 player normal or heroic, with 2 tanks, 2 healers and 6 DPS for every ten players. It needs level 85 and an average item level of 346 for normal or 359 for heroic.

A treasure goblin and a casino

  • A treasure goblin, a mechanic the team describes as Diablo III style, appears every 45 to 90 minutes near a random player of level 85 or higher. Once hit, it runs away dropping bags of loot and escapes through a portal after 45 seconds. Killing it gives 200 to 400 gold, gems, materials and a 5% chance at the Hogrus mount
  • Gallywix's Pleasure Palace in Azshara is now a sanctuary with a casino. A bank NPC takes gold, honor, Justice, Valor and Conquest as stakes, and players can bet on turtle races and pet fights. The team published the return to player of each game, from 84% for the slot machine to 98.6% for craps

Tier 11 nerfed

Blackwing Descent, Bastion of Twilight and Throne of the Four Winds now run in their official nerfed version from after patch 4.0.6a, with boss damage cut by 10% to 62.5% depending on the ability. The changelog also fixed a long list of problems in the Guardian Trial wave mode, from missing loot to repeated bosses, and limited each wave to two minutes from wave 30.
